We tied the knot!

The COVID-19 pandemic changed my “dream wedding” plans that were set on May 9, 2020, at Calamigos Ranch. I didn’t let the disappointment of postponing a wedding bring me down. Instead, Adam and I picked our two-year anniversary date to make it official in the eyes of the state.

A date that started the beginning of our life-long journey together and will be forever celebrated!

However, we still plan to have our dream wedding at Calamigos Ranch very very soon with our guests that have been invited to relive our union and party!!! Plus, I’ve been dreaming of putting my wedding gown on and having my dad walk me down the aisle since I was a little girl.

On Thursday, June 18th, 2020, we decided to exchange vows in a small, intimate setting outside the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach. Only our parents and siblings were present. I had one of my best friends, Lauren, who is an amazing wedding and lifestyle photographer from Laurenmichellephotography.com take photos of the special day. We also shared the ceremony live via Zoom for the family who couldn’t attend in person.

Vows
You may kiss the bride!
My Sister, Father, Husband, and Mother
My Father-in-law, Mother-in-law, and Husband
My Brother-in-law, Husband, Sister-in-law, and Sister
Ordained Minister and Wife

I had a small bouquet made by my amazing florist, Tara, from Sweet Blossom Designs. I kept my bouquet simple and classy having white roses and baby’s breath mixed in.

I will say, postponing a wedding made me sad about waiting a little longer to say “I do” to my best friend. But, I know that time is a gift and we have the rest of our lives to spend together. I have always believed that God’s timing is always perfect too!

We did it!

Advice to Other Brides: The best advice I can offer other brides whose weddings have been postponed or canceled due to the pandemic is to do what is best for you as a couple. For, Adam and me, that was to still get married even though it played out differently than we had planned. This is also a good life lesson that life doesn’t always go as planned, you need to be flexible, open-minded, and ready to adapt.

After the vows, we celebrated by getting drinks, dinner, and dessert at Selanne Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach. If you’re looking to have the best steak of your life, this is the place!

Even though the countdown is on for our bigger wedding day, I’m going to enjoy the planning process and make the days count instead!
