I’m sharing a few important tips on how to nail your engagement photoshoot along with some of my favorite pictures from mine!
Wear something that makes you feel like a million bucks
.Choose outfits that you feel confident in and fit properly on your body. The colors you decide to wear are just as important as the fit. I picked lighter colors like pastels, cool hues, and neutrals which are great for a nature background. Stay away from logos or sayings which take away from your faces and the love between you. My dress is from Lulus and my white top is from Revolve!
Hire a professional photographer
You will get the best photos by hiring a professional. My advice is to hire a wedding photographer that includes an engagement photo session. The engagement photoshoot session is the perfect opportunity to get to know your photographer before the big day. It gives your photographer a chance to experiment with flattering angles, poses, and lighting before your wedding day. After a lot of research on finding the best wedding photographer, I hired Shauntelle Sposto as my wedding photographer! Her work is INCREDIBLE. Her eye for capturing the most beautiful photos is perfection along with her genuine personality. IG: @spostophoto
Schedule your session during Golden hour
Consider a sunrise or sunset photo session to capture the most beautiful photos. We shot our engagement photos just before sunset for that golden hour glow! You you can check for sunrise and sunset times on your weather app or simply ask Siri.
Hire a professional hair and makeup artist
Photos require more makeup than your everyday look so you don’t become washed out. The job of a professional hair and makeup artist is to enhance your beauty and ensure you look your very best. I hired Janet Hernandez to do my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot. She did an AMAZING job and gave me a soft glam look that captured well in all my photos. She comes prepared and made getting ready hassle free. Janet specializes in wedding hair and makeup as well. IG: Beautybyj_
Set the scene with a location that you really love as a couple
Finding the right location is an essential part of taking great photos. Choose a location that you really love as a couple! You want your photos to reflect what you love to do together. Our photos were shot on a gorgeous hiking trail and beach in Newport Coast California.
