My Bachelorette Bash in Ojai

When my friends asked where I wanted to celebrate my bachelorette, without hesitation, I responded, “Ojai!”

Why you ask? Because, in my opinion, it’s the perfect place to enjoy wine, gourmet food, shop, and pamper yourself with your closest friends and family before the big day.

My bachelorette party was absolutely amazing! The weekend in Ojai was not only the ultimate retreat experience but, truly unforgettable thanks to my girls and Mom who made it special for me. I feel incredibly grateful for the amazing women that came to celebrate such a special time in my life. We laughed, cooked, and bonded the best way possible at an adorable bed & breakfast called The Lavender Inn.

First Stop

Ojai Rotie small.png

We arrived in Ojai around noon from The OC to a fun picnic inspired lunch at Ojai Rotie. They are known for their French-Lebanese style rotisserie chicken, innovative side dishes, and freshly-baked sourdough. Truly scrumptious! If you’re vegan, don’t worry, the menu also has many plant-based options.

Checking In

After lunch, we checked into our accommodation for the weekend, The Lavender Inn. Without skipping a beat, the bubbly was popped and we started to celebrate. My girlfriends immediately kicked me out of the room so they could decorate my room with all sorts of balloons, banners, confetti, and personalized party favors. My Mom and I stayed in the Provence Cottage room which was super cute and very spacious! There are only 8 rooms at this small B&B each with their own unique charm. If you have a big party size, make sure you book far enough out so you can get the whole place to yourselves.

Dinner

We made reservations for dinner at AZU restaurant and bar. They are well known for their Spanish and Mediterranean comfort cuisine and of course, amazing cocktails. Azu had a little surprise in store when we arrived. Instead of being seated in the normal dining area, they escorted us to our own private table in the back of the restaurant near the wine cellars. This was a great surprise and probably a good idea as we may have bothered the other guests with our laughter and jokes. After dinner, we couldn’t stop talking about the flavorful food, ambiance, and unique cocktails. Not only that but, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our every need. I highly recommend this place for dinner next time you make a visit to Ojai.

Ending The Night

Instead of hitting the town, I wanted a more low key evening so we had a PJ party and game night back at our bed & breakfast! We took tons of fun photos, indulged in yummy treats, and played games late into the night.

Day Two

Of course, The Lavender Inn is a B&B so breakfast was included. We came downstairs to a lavish but healthy breakfast that accommodates all dietary choices. The meal was beautifully set up with coffee, tea, orange juice, pastries, and hot and cold breakfast options. What I really liked about breakfast is that all the items are sourced locally. Everything was absolutely scrumptious! After breakfast, we got ready for our daytime activity, a private cooking class!

Private Cooking Class

They say a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach! And, I can certainly attest to that. So, I decided that my girls and I take a private cooking class so that when we return home we can cook an amazing meal to keep our men happy. We had the pleasure of learning from celebrity Chef, Robin Goldstein. When we booked the class months ago, Robin gave us menu choices and I chose a few options that I thought would be fun and easy. She worked side by side with us to create a citrus salad with fennel and crushed pistachio with a bright citrus vinaigrette. Topped with olive, fig, and tangerine chicken. For dessert, we made a tasty tangerine citrus-almond olive oil loaf cake. One word, mouth-watering! I cannot say enough about Robin. From her true professionalism to her knowledge of food and of course, all types of dietary options, our experience was amazing. I highly recommend her.

Last Hurrah

Our last night was spent at the Ojai Valley Inn for dinner. There are a few restaurants at the hotel and we chose to have dinner at The Oak restaurant. I loved the whimsical scenery the restaurant had to offer with its centuries-old oak trees surrounding the grounds. It felt like I was in a fairy tale. From the fresh local ingredients that the chef chose to use to the beautiful way the dishes were presented, Oak restaurant is a must for any foodie!

A special thanks to all my friends and family that traveled from all over to celebrate with me in Ojai! I am extremely grateful and couldn’t of asked for a better bachelorette!
